Ali Boudewyn is a well-rounded therapist with a large tool box of skills and experience. In 2014, Ali graduated with honours from a specialized four-year bachelor program in Athletic and Exercise Therapy at the Pacific Institute for Sports Excellence, which then led to her Athletic Therapy certification through the Canadian Athletic Therapist’s Association and the Athletic Therapists Association of BC. With these certifications already under her belt, Ali added to her arsenal by becoming a licensed Exercise Physiologist, through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, and a Red Cross First Responder.
Prior to having her own therapy business, Ali has worked at a sports medicine clinic at the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence, LifeMark Physiotherapy and iHealthcare Victoria, to build her therapy business foundation.
To gain insight into particular sports and build her knowledge of the types of injuries that may occur, Ali dedicates herself to various competitive sports and has worked with Shamrocks Lacrosse, Falcon Gymnastics and Devils Fastball. In the summer of 2016 she travelled with BC Rugby to Rugby Canada’s national championships and in recent years she has become devoted to mountain biking. Ali has also volunteered as a strength and conditioning coach for people who use wheelchairs, which challenged her to think out of the box when developing therapy plans for her clients.
Ali’s personal experience with competitive sport, back injury, chronic pain and autoimmune disease give her another layer of understanding in what others are experiencing, and she manages these issues through her passion of self-care, clean living and mindful exercise. Ali is always looking for ways to improve and she is currently taking lessons in mountain biking, swimming, olympic lifting and yoga.
