Ali Boudewyn
Ali Boudewyn is a well-rounded therapist with a wealth of skills, expertise and experience.
Ali has been providing athletic therapy services since 2014, and through this work was called to become a clinical counsellor to better meet her client’s needs. Physical rehabilitation was only going so far in supporting her client’s with more complex chronic pain conditions, and the main things these patients seemed to have in common were that most of them were women with a history of mental, emotional, and/or physical trauma and a sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous system that was stuck in distress. Thus, in 2024, after graduating from a Master of Counselling, Ali began offering Counselling services as well.
- worked with various sports teams, travelling, taping, and providing sideline treatment and emergency first aid.
- programmed and run mountain bike programs - teaching sport-specific fitness, mobility, and spin classes.
- provided ergonomic assessment and presentations for offices and factories to fix workspaces and educate on workplace repetitive strain injury prevention.
- created creative solutions in public and high-performance training to accommodate people’s unique injuries from joint replacements to partial paralyzation and limb differences.
- trained and conducted fitness assessments for the Navy.
- supervised athletic therapy students on their field and clinical practicums.
Ali is now fully dedicated to her two private practices under one roof: Athletic Therapy and Registered Counselling. You can see her for one or both, and she is happy to consult with you to create a treatment plan that is uniquely yours.
Ali’s personal experience with competitive sports, back, head, and knee injury, chronic pain, and various chronic illnesses give her a deep understanding of what others are experiencing. She is proud to have overcome chronic pain and PTSD and has managed these challenges through her devotion to self-care, healthy living, mindful movement, and being in service to others.
